Pantry Ghost is designed to be private by default. Here is the whole policy in one sentence: we collect nothing.
Nothing. Pantry Ghost has no accounts, no sign-ups, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, and no network features. The app never sends any data off your device — it doesn't even need an internet connection.
Pantry Ghost asks for camera permission for exactly one purpose: reading the text on a grocery receipt. The image is processed on your device using Apple's on-device text recognition and is never stored, saved to your photo library, or transmitted anywhere.
Everything Pantry Ghost creates — your pantry items, shelf-life estimates, and reminders — is stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes all of it. We have no servers and no copy of anything.
"Use it soon" reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No information leaves your phone to deliver them.
Pantry Ghost does not collect, store, or share personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Since the app collects nothing, we don't expect it to change much.
