Pantry Ghost is a frictionless food-expiry tracker. Scan a grocery receipt once and the app reads the items on-device, estimates how long each one keeps, and shows you only the few things worth using this week — so you waste less food and less money. No accounts, no servers, no ads, and it works fully offline.
Open the Scan tab and photograph a grocery receipt. On-device text recognition reads the line items, fills in an estimated shelf life for each, and shows a confirm screen where you can edit anything before adding it to your pantry. You can also tap Use a sample receipt to see how it works.
Pantry Ghost uses the camera for one thing only: reading the text on your receipt. The photo is processed on your device and is never stored or uploaded. To enable it, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and switch on Pantry Ghost.
That's the point. Instead of a long inventory list you'll never read, the Use Soon screen surfaces just the items closest to expiring, ranked by urgency. Your full pantry is always one tap away under the Pantry tab.
No — shelf-life times are friendly estimates to help you plan, not food-safety guarantees. When in doubt, trust your senses.
Everything is saved on your device automatically. Deleting the app removes it, and there's no cloud sync or account, so it doesn't transfer to a new device.
