UV Wiz is a simple, single-purpose app. It has no accounts, no sign-ups, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs. We operate no servers and keep no copy of your data. The one piece of information that leaves your device is your approximate location, sent to a weather service to look up the UV index — explained in full below.
If you grant location permission, UV Wiz uses your device location to look up the UV index for where you are. Your approximate coordinates (latitude and longitude) are sent over a secure connection to the Open-Meteo Air-Quality API, a third-party public weather service, for the sole purpose of retrieving the current UV index at that location. The coordinates are used only to make that request — they are not stored by us, not linked to your identity, and not used to track you across apps or websites. Open-Meteo's handling of requests is governed by its own privacy terms (open-meteo.com/en/terms).
Location is entirely optional. If you decline, UV Wiz simply shows the UV index for a default city (New Delhi). You can change or revoke location access any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
To show a friendly city name, UV Wiz converts your coordinates to a place name using Apple's on-device geocoding. This lookup is handled by iOS and is not sent to our servers (we have none).
Nothing. UV Wiz does not create a profile, does not retain your location history, and does not store personal data on any server. Aside from transmitting coordinates to fetch a UV reading as described above, your information stays on your device.
UV Wiz does not collect, store, or share personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
