Here is the whole policy in one sentence: your address never leaves your phone, and nothing about you is collected.
Nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter and no third-party tracking of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is measured or profiled.
Your street segment, your bin selection and your reminder settings are stored only on your iPhone, in the app's own storage. They are never transmitted anywhere. There is no server holding your address, because there is no server at all.
The legal basis for storing these settings on your device is that they are necessary to provide the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Deleting the app erases all of it.
Reminders are scheduled locally by your iPhone. Nothing is sent through a server and no push token is created or transmitted. Notifications are only ever scheduled after you explicitly allow them, and you can withdraw that permission at any time — in the app's Settings, or in the iPhone's own Settings app.
The app makes no network request on its own. Every collection date for Erlangen ships inside the app; it works with the phone in aeroplane mode. There are exactly two occasions on which it contacts the internet:
| When | What is sent |
|---|---|
| You tap Resync to download an updated collection schedule | An ordinary web request. Your IP address reaches the host, as with any web request. No address, no identifier, no usage data. |
| Loading a promotion card, if one is configured | The same. A static image and a small JSON file are fetched. No cookies, no tracking parameters. |
Neither request carries your street, your bin choices, a device identifier or an advertising ID. There is nothing in them that could identify you.
Because no personal data ever reaches the operator, there is nothing held about you to access, correct, export or erase. If you believe otherwise, write to the address below. You also have the right to complain to a data-protection supervisory authority.
Collection dates are taken from the City of Erlangen's own waste-calendar service at erlangen.mein-abfallkalender.online. This app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the City of Erlangen. Dates are provided in good faith; always check the city's own calendar if something looks wrong.
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Since the app collects nothing, we do not expect it to change much.
