๐Ÿ”ญ Star Hunter โ€” Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 12, 2026 ยท App: Star Hunter: Night Sky Quest

The short version for parents: Star Hunter collects nothing. No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no accounts, no internet features โ€” and no location access. Everything your child does in the app stays on the device.

What data we collect

None. Star Hunter does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information or usage data. The app:

Location

Star Hunter never accesses your device's location. To compute which stars are overhead, your child simply picks a city from a built-in list (for example "London" or "Tokyo"). That choice is a game setting stored on the device โ€” it is not location data and it never leaves the device.

Motion sensor

Star Hunter reads the device's orientation (gyroscope/compass) in real time so the sky view follows where the phone is pointing โ€” that is the whole point of the app! Orientation readings are used instantly to draw the sky and are never recorded, stored, or transmitted. A "finger pointing" mode in the Grown-Ups screen works without the motion sensor entirely.

Game progress

Found constellations, myth cards, moon-phase logs, XP and ranks are saved only in the app's local storage on your device. Deleting the app permanently deletes this data. It never leaves the device.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

Star Hunter is designed for kids aged 8โ€“12 and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the App Store Kids Category guidelines by the simplest possible means: it collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app ever changes this, this policy will be updated first and the change will be clearly disclosed in the App Store notes.
