The short version: Kinetiq measures your ride comfort using your device's motion and
location sensors. This processing happens on your device. Your routes and sensor data are not
sold, and are not shared with third-party advertisers.
Who we are
Kinetiq ("the app", "we") is an iOS application that turns your iPhone's motion and GPS data
into a ride Comfort Score. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.
Data the app uses
Motion & sensor data — accelerometer and gyroscope readings used to compute
smoothness, vibration, and jerk events during a recorded ride.
Location data — used to map your route and color it by ride smoothness. With your
permission, location updates continue while a ride is recording even when the screen is locked,
so the route is not interrupted. Recording stops when you end a ride.
Account data — if you choose to sign in, an identifier from your sign-in provider
(e.g. Apple or Google) is used to sync your ride history to your account. You can use the app
without signing in.
Purchase data — subscription status is managed by Apple's App Store. We never see
your payment details.
How your data is processed
Motion and location processing happens on your device to generate your Comfort Score and route.
If you sign in, your ride summaries and history are stored in your account so they are available
across your devices. We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for third-party
advertising.
Third-party services
The app uses Firebase (Google) for optional account sign-in and to sync your ride history, and
for basic, aggregated analytics and crash reporting that help us improve reliability. These
services process data under their own privacy terms.
Your choices
Grant or revoke location and motion access anytime in iOS Settings.
Use the app without an account.
Delete your ride history from within the app.
Request deletion of account data by contacting us at the address below.
Children
Kinetiq is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
